MSEA 3200 - Sports Public Relations

Gives students an in-depth look at the evolution of sports public relations from the age of print media to the advent of social and digital media.  Students research the various social media platforms and how sport organizations reach consumers through these emerging media channels.  The origins of sports media are discussed, with an emphasis on writing press releases, news stories and generating biographical and statistical information about athletes and teams.  Career opportunities in the sports media and public relations field are also examined.
