CSEC 1800 - Introduction to Data Analytics


Data Analytics is an essential process/technique that provides a wealth of information for organizational survival. E.g., exploring and analyzing data can help identify trends to make decisions critical to business success, cure ailments, predict weather circumstances, model ecosystems, and forecast election results. 

 

This course provides a hands-on introduction to Data Analytics. It covers the skills required to assemble analysis flow diagrams, including data gathering, processing, and analyzing large volumes of data to generate insights that inform decisions making. The student will learn the fundamental theoretical underpinnings behind modern data analytics. As the class advances, students will learn some of the most effective data analytics methods and put them into practice addressing real-world scenarios. The rich tool set of SAS Enterprise Miner will be used to practice data analytics techniques in this course.

Prerequisites: MATH 1150 - Statistics
