MSIT 3770 - Feedback Systems and Control Patterns

Systems Thinking is a compelling topic that is considered a cornerstone for companies attempting to embrace the foundations of the Learning Organization. In Peter Senge’s seminal work on Systems Thinking, The Fifth Discipline, he explains and demonstrates not only the five disciplines of a learning organization, but also the corporate learning disabilities that dampen an enterprises progress. In this course, we will study and reinforce the attributes and examine these disabilities - so as to identify and correct them quickly.

We will move forward from there to understand the most typical systems diagrams and control patterns. Recognizing these systems and patterns is critical to supporting the proper identification of the ‘leverage’ solutions (places where strategic intervention can create lasting change). We can then successfully support continued growth.
