ENG 1690 - Understanding Poetry

Seeks to establish a basis for the reading, understanding and deeper appreciation of poetry as a medium for human expression and connection. Covers the rudiments of form and structure, diction and image, trope and theme, aesthetic and vision, through the reading of several dozen poems drawn from both the English and American traditions.
