GEOG 307 - Web Mapping and Open Source GIS

This course introduces a variety of open source GIS and proprietary technologies for front-end web development and web mapping. The course emphasizes a hands-on learning approach to real-world problem solving. Various web services and programming languages will be introduced to explore different ways to gather, manipulate, and display spatial data on the web, with the goal of deciding how they can best be used with stakeholders in different contexts.

 

Formerly IDCE 30262 and SSJ 30262. Students who have already passed IDCE 30262 or SSJ 30262 cannot receive credit for GEOG 307 and should not take this course.

Prerequisites: Students should have prior programming experience in addition to IDCE 310 or SSJ 310  or GEOG 397 or IDCE 388 or SSJ 388  .
