MSIT 3820 - IT Business Intelligence Businesses today are evolving rapidly, becoming more complex and data-driven. To remain competitive, organizations must respond quickly to change and leverage innovative technologies for strategic, tactical, and operational decision-making. Business Intelligence (BI) plays a critical role in transforming raw data into actionable insights through analytics, data management, and visualization.
This course explores key BI concepts, tools, and technologies that support managerial decision-making. Topics include data governance, data warehousing, cloud-based BI solutions, data extraction methods, and visualization tools. Students will also examine the process of moving data from transactional systems to analytical environments, the role of AI and automation in BI, and best practices for ensuring data quality, security, and compliance. Through hands-on exercises and case studies, students will gain practical experience in applying BI solutions to real-world business challenges.
