LAS 221 - Social and Political Philosophy

Surveys the leading philosophical accounts of social and political institutions. Property, civil and natural rights, freedom and obligations and the legitimation of political authority are treated in detail. Readings include both classical and contemporary sources. Prerequisite: two courses in philosophy. Fulfills Values Perspective (VP) requirement.
