PSCI 267 - International Negotiations

This course is designed to familiarize students with strategies and tactics of negotiations in general and specifically with international negotiations. The class aims to provide students with hands-on experience in foreign policy decision-making and international negotiations in an effort to illustrate the problems and possibilities of international interactions. In the first half of the semester we will concentrate on concepts and theories of international negotiations, bargaining tactics, and foreign policy decision-making. This part of the course will be comprised of case discussions, lectures, required readings and class exercises. The rest of the course will be devoted to participation in simulated international negotiations. By the end of the class students should be able to both analyze international relations, as well as improve their own negotiation skills.
