Management, BA/MSM

Overview


The Masters of Science in Management degree provides students with management knowledge that can be applied as an emerging leader in any career, in any sector-private, public, or non-profit.

Students will augment educational or work experience with a solid foundation of graduate management education and a broad understanding of management’s applications. Regardless of their undergraduate background, students will learn how to work with diverse stakeholders in key areas of an organization:

  • Accounting
  • Marketing
  • Information technology
  • Human resources

Most importantly, the MSM will help develop the leadership and decision-making skills students need to effect community and organizational change.

Departmental Eligibility Requirements


The accelerated Bachelor of Arts/Master of Science in Management program is open to students in all majors.

For students that enrolled at Clark in Fall 2018 or earlier:

Prospective MSM students must complete MGMT100 AND MGMT110 or ECON160 or PSYC105 with a grade of B+ or higher by the end of the second semester of their junior year. 

A minimum cumulative sophomore/junior year GPA of a 3.4 will be required for eligibility in the BA/MSM program. A senior year cumulative GPA of a 3.4, including both undergraduate and graduate courses, will be required to remain eligible for the 5th year.

Students admitted into this program are eligible for a full 100% tuition remission in the 5th year. Tuition remission eligibility will be communicated to students with their admission decision.

Program of Study


The MSM requires 10 units of graduate coursework. Students will be required to take 2 graduate course units in their senior year. Students will choose from the following graduate course options during senior year:

MGMT 4050  

ACCT 4100  

STAT 4300  

Students will then complete the remaining 8 units of graduate coursework in their 5th year of study. For more information on the MSM program requirements, please visit the Management, MSM  .

The BA/MSM program requires a graduate level internship for all accelerated degree students. This internship must be completed as part of the MSM program and by the time a student completes the degree requirements. Internships completed at the undergraduate level do not meet this requirement. No academic credit is awarded for the internship.

Fees


Students will pay a one-time program fee of $1,000 in the first semester of graduate study.  Students also pay a $40 activity fee in the fall and spring semesters of their graduate studies, as well as a one-time enrollment fee of $100. 

Students are responsible for paying for housing, food, books, health insurance, and other personal items.

 

Program Advisor


Students are required to meet with the designated degree adviser and have them sign the Accelerated Degree Program Adviser Form.  The signed form confirms the student and program adviser have discussed the requirements of the program. This form is also available on the Graduate Admissions website.
