Accounting, BA/MSA

Overview


The Clark University M.S.A. program readies you for a career in public accounting or financial management. You will be able to develop and analyze accounting information, provide assurances of financial control and accuracy, develop investment and tax strategies, and advise top-level managers as they make important decisions.

Departmental Eligibility Requirements


The accelerated Bachelor of Arts/Master of Science in Accounting program is open to students in all majors.

Three prerequisites are required. Students must complete MGMT101, MGMT203, and MGMT110 OR ECON160 OR PSYC105 with a grade of B+ or higher by the end of the second semester of their junior year.

A minimum cumulative sophomore/junior year GPA of a 3.6 will be required for eligibility in the BA/MSA program. A senior year cumulative GPA of a 3.6, including both undergraduate and graduate courses, will be required to remain eligible for the 5th year.

Tuition Remission

Students admitted into this program are eligible for up to 50% tuition remission in the 5th year. Tuition remission eligibility will be communicated to students with their admission decision.

Program of Study


The MSA requires 10 units of graduate coursework.  Students will be required to take 2 graduate course units in their senior year. Students must complete ACCT 5101   and ACCT 5100   during their senior year. 

Students will then complete the remaining 8 units of graduate coursework in their 5th year of study. For more information on the MSA program requirements, please visit the Accounting, MSA  .

5th Year Fall Semester - ACCT5102, ACCT5105, ACCT5109, ACCT5206

5th Year Spring Semester - ACCT5103, ACCT5104, ACCT5107, one elective course
 

The BA/MSA program requires a graduate level internship for all accelerated degree students. This internship must be completed as part of the MSA program and by the time a student completes the degree requirements. Internships completed at the undergraduate level do not meet this requirement. No academic credit is awarded for the internship.

Fees


This program is only eligible for up to a 50% tuition remission rate for a student’s fifth year of study.

Students will pay a one-time program fee of $1,000 in the first semester of graduate study.  Students also pay a $40 activity fee in the fall and spring semesters of their graduate studies, as well as a one-time enrollment fee of $100. 

Students are responsible for paying for housing, food, books, health insurance, and other personal items.

Program Advisor


Students are required to meet with the designated degree adviser and have them sign the Accelerated Degree Program Adviser Form.  The signed form confirms the student and program adviser have discussed the requirements of the program. This form is also available on the Graduate Admissions website.
