MSPM 3770 - Project Economics and Contract Procurement


This course focuses on project economics and procurement principles and practices essential to effectively manage projects. Students will explore the principles of project economics, including cost estimation, baseline budgeting, cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and feasibility analysis. The financial viability of projects and strategies to make informed decisions based on economic considerations are discussed.  The second part of the course covers the role of contract procurement in project management procurement strategies and contract negotiations methods, and legal and ethical considerations. Students will also be introduced to tools used to oversee a project portfolio, using specific PMI technology. 

Prerequisites: MSPM 3460 - Agile Project Delivery: Principles and Practices
