The Clark University M.S.A. program readies you for a career in public accounting or financial management. You will be able to develop and analyze accounting information, provide assurances of financial control and accuracy, develop investment and tax strategies, and advise top-level managers as they make important decisions.

Departmental Eligibility Requirements

The accelerated Bachelor of Arts/Master of Science in Accounting program is open to students in all majors.

Three prerequisites are required. Students must complete:

ACCT 101

ACCT 203

AND QBUS 110   OR ECON 160   OR PSYC 105   with a grade of B or higher by the end of the second semester of their junior year. The prerequisite grade requirement applies to all junior applicants in Fall 2023 and beyond.

A minimum cumulative sophomore/junior year GPA of a 3.6 will be required for eligibility in the BA/MSA program. A senior year cumulative GPA of a 3.6, including both undergraduate and graduate courses, will be required to remain eligible for the 5th year.

For ALL SOM Accelerated Degree Applicants

As part of the application process, all applicants to the accelerated degree program must meet with both the SOM Assistant Dean, Laura Burgess, and the Associate Director of the SOM Stevenish Career Management Center, Kelly Kochis, before the accelerated degree adviser form will be signed and approved by the School of Management. These meetings need to take place before the accelerated degree application deadline.

Tuition Remission

Students admitted into this program are eligible for up to 50% tuition remission in the 5th year. Tuition remission eligibility will be communicated to students with their admission decision.

Program of Study

The MSA requires 10 units of graduate coursework.  Students will be required to take 2 graduate course units in their senior year, and can take an additional third graduate course if they choose. Students must complete ACCT 5101   and ACCT 5100   during their senior year.

Students will then complete the remaining 7-8 units of graduate coursework in their 5th year of study. For more information on the MSA program requirements, please visit the Accounting, MSA  .

The full time on campus BA/MSA program requires a graduate level internship for all accelerated degree students. This internship must be completed as part of the MSA program and by the time a student completes the degree requirements. Internships completed at the undergraduate level do not meet this requirement. No academic credit is awarded for the internship.

Fees

This program is only eligible for up to a 50% tuition remission rate for a student’s fifth year of study.  There is a one-time program fee in the first semester of graduate study.  The student continues to be responsible for paying other enrollment and activity fees as well as their housing, books and personal items.  Tuition and fees are set annually by the Board of Trustees.
