Master of Science in Sports and Esports Administration Overview

The sports industry has evolved into a multi-billion-dollar global enterprise and, thus, created a need for qualified and competent individuals to fill a variety of leadership and administration.

In 2020, the videogame industry had a banner year, with revenue larger than those for the Movie, Music, NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL industries combined. Video games play a large role in how consumers spend their entertainment dollars and hours. Beyond buying and playing games, consumers are increasingly spending time and money watching other people play.  This has given rise to a brand-new form of entertainment: Esports.

Esports is different from other sports but in many ways they are similar as both need people to address challenges in the sports business: administration, promotion, marketing, ticket sales, sponsorships and event management.  The differences lie in the level of game and technology familiarity and a different view of how business relationships are structured due to game-specific leagues.

The Master of Science in Sports and Esports Administration at Clark University will provide students the skills and experiences to be competitive candidates in sports and Esports administration, e.g., sports marketing, sports communications, event management, sports finance, athletics administration, and coaching.
